Obviously, nobody makes streets their home by choice.
However, many people are forcedby circumstances to make a wide open sky their home
and rotten things their meal. While we are having a sound sleep under the cozy blankets
with our dear ones, some of our fellow men and women are making effort to fall
asleep on a street corner with a half-naked and foul smelling body.
It sounds bitter, but the fact is that many people are
begging for livelihood in the street sides of our country. In the wake of 21st
century people are dying for basic needs on the roadsides of almost all of the
major cities in Nepal. While voices are being raised for animal rights and their
safe shelters, human beings –thecrown of the creations – are still lying in the
street raise a question against human conscience.
Many have made street their birth place and many have made
the same street their grave. How long will this suffering continue in the land
where Buddha sought cure to the suffering? When will my beautiful country
"Nepal" be free from street people? My beautiful country Nepal, which
is rich in cultural biodiversity and nature, has the highest scope of tourism
and every year millions of tourist gets lured by its beauty. Not every tourist
visiting Nepal climbs the Mt.Everest but each and everyone will pass through
the street where people are living miserable life
struggling for food and shelter.
My dream is to make my country Nepal street people free
country. So, this is an appeal for all Nepalese brothers and sisters to do
something to make our country street-people-free country and a wonderful place
where there is no depravity, only Humanity!
